For a second, without realizing it, I completed the first audio lesson that lasted 17 minutes, and it felt literally just 3 minutes or so. I wanted to learn Spanish primarily because I am planning to travel to Spain soon, and I wanted to learn it rather than rely on Google Translate or other AI-powered alternatives, since they can misinterpret and I cannot notice the nuances in languages that do not read or interpret tone, feelings, and so on. For me, these technologies feel like they kill the connection between me and people. I wanted to learn it to understand their culture much better and meet new people. Hopefully, I can make friends there or even find a lover, which I doubt Google Translate can do. And of course, there are other reasons I wanted to learn Spanish, such as its benefits for cognitive development, the new career opportunities it may open, the chance I missed to go on a date with a Portuguese girl who speaks Portuguese and Spanish, and, of course, I love the Spanish language.
